You’d think that with all the hoopla surrounding celebrities who study Jewish mysticism I might have an inkling of what it’s all about. I don’t. What’s more embarrassing is that I was raised Jewish—you’d think that might give me an edge on the topic. Yet I was totally in the dark.
By now you know I’m a girl who likes to meditate. And you know I get inspired by a Bhuddist belief or two. But I can’t believe there’s not something helpful (hopefully not attached to guilt) in Kabbalah the Rabbis never taught me.
I recently read The Jew in the Lotus, which was about Rabbis of eight different sects meeting the Dalai Lama to share notes on spiritual beliefs. It wasn’t surprising that the Rabbis practically begged the Buddhists to send the “Jew-bus” (Jews turned Bhuddists) back to the Jewish faith. On the flip side, the Bhuddists tried persuading the Rabbis to make spirituality more accessable (read: don’t only teach Kabbalah to 40-year-old men.)
My Orthodox rabbis did little to keep me enchanted with Judaism when I was young. Yeshiva was long, boring, and filled with meaningless prayers—not to mention terrible baked chicken and kuggle lunches.
But recently, I’m feeling more open and forgiving. Thank you, Deepak Chopra.
I signed up for a course at Kripalu recently with Rabbi Segal, a female Kabbalist. She’s my kind of woman: strong, smart and spiritual. Here’s my take on the experience in the fun video above.

Good work! Congrats
Hebrew school was all about brainwashing us into being respectful, Jewish women who will stick to the practice. And, for the men to become future rabbis. I always found it strange that I learned how to read but never speak Hebrew. Anyway, this project of yours reminds me the page I’m at these days
I don’t regret going to Hebrew school, however, even if it caused me to be a bit behind when I left and went to public school.

Hello friends,
I’m researching people willing to be interviewed for an article regarding the occult and love spells.
Please PM if you have had any experience with spell casters, good or bad.
Discretion and privacy are guaranteed.
Thanks,

Back in college, I had a teacher who wrote a book on the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles. I skimmed over it and thought it was interesting. We suspected she interviewed Madonna which was the only cool thing I liked about it
The study of Kabbalah is beyond my grasp, there’s also a study within it called Gematria. So I only like its spiritual teachings.

Hello friends,
This is a story that I find funny everytime I read:
A man received a parrot for his birthday. This parrot was fully-grown with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an expletive. Those that weren’t expletives were, to say the least, extremely rude.
The man tried hard to change the bird’s attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything that came to mind.
Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird, the bird got worse. He went to a voodoo spell caster to cast a love spell on it, with no luck.
He shook the bird and the bird got more angry and exceedingly rude.
Finally, in a moment of desperation, he put the parrot in the freezer.
For a few moments he heard the bird squawking, kicking and screaming and then, suddenly, all was quiet.
The man was frightened that he might have actually hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out onto the man’s extended arm and said: “I’m sorry that I offended you with my language and actions. I ask for your forgiveness. I will try to improve my behavior.”
The man was astounded at the bird’s change in attitude and was about to ask what changed him when the parrot continued, “…May I ask what the chicken did?”

It´s all about fitness mates! Or what do you think? I like this information and it has presented me some sort of desire to succeed for some reason, so keep up the good work. Moreover I´m definitely thinking about mentioning these facts in my own blog!

Great video. Love it! Hugely entertaining and strangely informative as well.
I’ve got it all–raised ultra-traditional Catholic, married into Jewish family, raised 3 Jewish kid (all of whom live in NY, one of whom is Music Director at Brooklyn’s venerable Kane St. Synagog), went through a halachic conversion, dropped it all when divorced, and now I’m into Yoga!
Give us more of these fun videos.
